Welcome to ♡ LIBRA SEASON
your monthly deep dive into the astrology of the season ahead. this month we are welcoming the autumn equinox and softening into love, beauty, and pleasure.
Before we dive into the Venusian depths of Libra, I want to take a moment to acknowledge our transition out of Virgo season. Personally this season was the perfect ‘moment of yin’ bridging the gap between fiery Leo and loving Libra. September so far has contained a surprising amount of romance, connection, clarity, and commitment. I felt myself re-invigorated through my work (while still learning that I don’t have to be constantly in a state of productivity).

and now…I invite you to make yourself a nice cup of tea and set aside a few minutes to dive in as we welcome libra season. happy equinox! fall equinox for our friends northern hemisphere, spring equinox if you’re in the southern half of the world.
LIBRA SEASON ♎️ September 22 - October 21
Libra is the sign of balance, harmony, equality, beauty and union. When you think about it from a seasonal perspective it makes perfect sense. The first day of Libra season ushers in the equinox, where the day and night are equal in length. We experience one of mother nature’s most profound acts of balance. The scales of the seasons are for a moment in perfect balance as we prepare for our descent into winter (or rise into spring).
Traditionally ruling the 7th house, Libra is a sign that also deals with union, marriage, or partnership. The way I’ve come to understand this area of the chart is not simply relationship…it’s commitment. Where we come to merge all of ourselves with that of another person. Not just the nicely polished and put together parts of ourselves…but the nitty gritty, sort of embarrassing, and vulnerable parts too. And when we do this, we find ourselves in a constant state of harmonizing, compromising, and balancing. That is Libra. A little bit of this, and a little bit of that. Investing just the right amount of love, attention, and energy to keep the scales in equilibrium.
Both of my parents are Libras. They are both artists (of course they are). And they own an art business together. So not only are they married, but they are also business partners. Extremely Libra of them. I’ve learned a lot about the essence of this sign through them. I’ve learned that strong partnerships (platonic, romantic, business etc.) require constant effort, creativity, and adaptation.
Libra is the sign of the artist. Like relationships, creating a work of art also requires constant effort, creativity and adaptation. It doesn’t always create things out of thin air (Pisces might be better at that). Libra re-arranges, adds colors, molds, and enhances. Being ruled by Venus, it understands the benefits and importance to creating a well balanced and harmonious environment. Creating such an environment isn’t only aesthetically pleasing but it is also brings peace to the nervous system, the body, and the mind.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say again, I am truly obsessed with experiencing the zodiacal seasons here on Earth. Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) initiate the changing of the seasons. Aries and Libra represent the balancing of light and dark with the equinoxes, while Cancer and Capricorn bring the shortest/longest days of the year with solstices.
I’ve been pondering what it means to be in a season of balance and a season of relationships. It occurred to me that they are the same. When we are working with learning how to create better balance in our lives, there has to be two or more things to measure, creating a relationship. When we are in partnership, with a new lover, an annoying roommate, or old friend, there is inherently a great deal of energetic balancing and measuring that happens to keep the peace.
Keeping the peace is also very Libran.
A lot of my Libra clients (my Libra moon included here) struggle with people pleasing as a form of keeping the peace. Not wanting to ruffle any feathers, choose the wrong restaurant, or say anything too controversial. This is the constant dance for our dear Libras. Learning how to honor and prioritize their truth just as much as they prioritize maintaining peace for the people around them.
