Your astrological & energetic update for September 29 - October 5
Yesterday morning, as I was preparing to teach my yoga class, I was talking to a student about this new astrology project I am working on (more details on that below). I felt myself deep in thought as I described this new endeavor to him. He laughed and responded by saying “I can see the wheels turning in your head right now”. It was true. I was having a download of ideas that I was trying to capture in a moment where I was unprepared. Then I realized we have a mercury cazimi looming..
In a few days, Mercury and the sun will meet up in Libra creating what is known as Cazimi. I talk more about what it means below in the astro section of the newsletter. To people with prominent air or mercurial placements in their chart, I think Cazimis can cause a rather disruptive flurry of ideas or thoughts. It’s something I really experience as a Virgo rising with mercury in my 1st house and Gemini on my 10th house. This activation overwhelms me with big ideas, small ideas, and new perspectives. It feels like there are 1000 post it notes lodged in my brain. To some people this transit can be really inspiring. Helping them move out of a place of stagnation or writers block. To others, its a flood of more content in their already busy brains.
I have found that the best way to work with and harness this cosmically beneficial energy is to create a container for our thoughts and ideas. Whenever inspiration strikes, get it out of your head as quickly as possible. My desk is littered with little pieces of paper with random notes, I have a file on my computer filled to the brim with business ideas, and I have oh so many little voice memos on my phone of me (partially out of breath) rambling through an idea as it downloads. I’ve got to get it out of my head and into a solid form so that I can free up the mental space and not worry about losing it.
I’ve also found that the less precious I am with how these ideas are recorded the better I feel. I’m talking questionable handwriting in coffee stained notebooks where you might also find a grocery list and the phone number for your electrician.
The energetics of a bright idea is like lightening. It strikes and you’ve got to be able to move with it. Get it out of your vessel so that you can revisit it when you have the capacity and structure to build on it. That’s at least what I keep trying to tell myself.
