fleeting moments...
cherry blossoms, busyness, and keeping up momentum // april 13-19
The cherry blossoms start to pop out sort of slowly, then all at once. It feels like I blink and they are everywhere. Every year, I find myself amazed by the branches that were just so bare and solemn now bursting with little flowers. And of course, every year, I can’t stop myself from taking dozens of photos of the flowers that I will never look at again. It somehow feels important to document this miraculous shift before the trees turn green for the rest of the summer. It’s a short window, and I am always afraid that I will miss it. Let’s normalize walking down the street and stopping to stare in reverie at every bud, blossom, and bloom we see.

I find myself juggling too much this week. Too many tasks, happenings, and projects converging at once. I feel that there is not enough time to get everything done. Or that I only have 20 minutes to dedicate to something that deserves 2 hours. Instead of fretting, I am attempting to allocate my time, still prioritize sleep, and NOT multitask. That last one is hard for me, but I’ve learned that it is the only way I can maintain integrity in my work when I feel too full to the brim.
I am contemplating the contradiction of feeling too busy in the fleeting window of the spring blooms. The dance between putting locking into my work and basking in the beauty of this short season. To tell you the truth, I have already glanced outside the window countless times while writing this newsletter. Keeping a close eye on the flowers.
Luckily, I think this week offers a nice balance of fiery momentum and a waning moon that offers spaciousness and discernment.
